I stared after the sexy little pixie who had just fucking curtsied at me for longer than I should’ve.

Much longer than I should’ve.

My hold on the moon was straining, badly, but the sun would set soon so I didn’t have to hold on for much longer.

Something told me sleep wouldn’t be in the cards that night.

“What was she talking about?” I spun toward my brother, my voice coming out a snarl.

The savagery couldn’t be helped, given what my fated mate had just told me.

“The women who took our magic to save our lives were taken while we were unconscious that day.” Namir didn’t beat around the bush, for the first time in his fucking life.

“They wanted to extract your magic from within us, but it became a part of us as soon as you handed it over.” Diora was glaring at me. What had I done to piss her off? “Akari was the oldest, and took as much of the torture as she could for Vena and I. And she reached the age of maturity much, much sooner than we did.”

My anger rose with each word I heard. “And these people were from my court?”

“I don’t know. She never said anything about that to me, but she’s tried to protect me for as long as I’ve been alive.” Diora was still glaring at me as she spoke.

Namir said coldly, “If the people who tortured them are in your inner circle, you can consider peace a forgotten theory, because my people and I will reign hell down on you—the moon be fucking damned.”

I snarled back, “If there are rapists in my inner circle, I’ll burn their eyes out myself before they’re boiled from within until their fucking souls are nonexistent.”

With that, I stalked out of the guest room, intent on finding the bastard who had hurt my female.

And proving to her that she was no longer a prisoner, even if she couldn’t cut my heart from my chest like she wanted to.
